We’re thrilled to share that our very own Principal Consultants, Lisa McMullan and Alison Price, recently brought their expertise to the airwaves, guesting on the highly respected Advance HE Student Success Podcast!

The episode, titled “Enterprise & Entrepreneurship in Higher Education,” was a fascinating deep dive into how universities can empower students to not only succeed in business, but to create significant social, cultural, and economic value in all their future endeavours.

Alongside host Stuart Norton PFHEA (pictured left) other guests were Dr. Michelle Phillips from the Royal Northern College of Music and Leigh Sear of SFEDI Solutions.

Alison and Lisa were particularly keen to champion was the power of EntreComp as a roadmap to entrepreneurial success. For those unfamiliar, EntreComp is a European framework that identifies 15 competences across three areas: ideas and opportunities; resources; and into action. It’s a fantastic tool for developing an entrepreneurial mindset!

Beyond EntreComp, the conversation covered a range of crucial topics, including:

The growing importance of social entrepreneurship in addressing societal challenges.
The transformative impact of AI on the entrepreneurial landscape.
The critical need for real-world student engagement to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

And, of course, no good discussion is complete without a little light-hearted debate – in this case, about biscuits (You’ll have to listen to find out more on that front!)

This podcast episode is a must-listen for anyone invested in higher education, enterprise education, and student success.

It offers valuable insights into fostering entrepreneurship and boosting employability today’s rapidly evolving world. The discussions also touched upon microlearning and the broader impact of platforms like LinkedIn Learning in supporting student development.
