This year for Global Entrepreneurship Week we wanted to talk about a cornerstone of our work – creating value. Our work at Enterprise Evolution focuses upon creating value for our clients, stakeholders and also, most crucially, helping them create value for others.

We work with SMEs to support their development or understanding their social value (SocialScore), as well as in our facilitation work, and the design of educational programmes and workshops.

Value in Business and Education

Enterprise Evolution helps organisations to grow and become more sustainable, and this means understanding the value that businesses add, the benefits valued by others, and tracking the impact organisations have upon others – whether that is people, communities or their wider stakeholders.

As social value consultants, we can help businesses to understand and identify their social value in action, and capture within a single dashboard the value they create beyond sales and customers satisfaction.

Within education, much of our work is rooted within EntreComp – the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework, which also has value at its heart. EntreComp defines value as something that can be financial, cultural, and social (EntreComp, 2016). It shows how entrepreneurial and business actions that can transform into value for others.

Global Entrepreneurship Week

On Global Entrepreneurship Week we are reflecting on value and how we help others develop their entrepreneurial potential, whether by exploring social value or building entrepreneurial capacity in others.

Our recent work with GROWTHhub, a collaborative venture between European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB) with South East Technological University (SETU) and TU Dublin seeks to build on their ambition to help others identify opportunities, by developing their staff.

Their offer to provide a holistic approach to business support is fuelled by the opportunity to build innovative entrepreneurship capacity and we are supporting this for the long term, by building staff capacity.

EntreComp

Embedding entrepreneurial competences, through innovative and authentic teaching methods has always been key to creating value. By growing the skills and confidence in our students and by putting EntreComp at the heart of our staff development, we build their capacity to change the way they teach.

Putting EntreComp at the heart of our approach allows us to embed into any subject, any industry, or sector and work with the ambitions of their students and staff. Enterprise Evolution is an active member of the EntreComp Community, becoming a recognised organisational EntreComp practitioner in 2022.

Most recently we have used EntreComp to underpin sector wide projects such as the design and content creation of the European Union’s Entrepreneurship4all digital learning eco-system, and development of innovative programmes supporting women to build their entrepreneurial competences through the Erasmus+ Women Learning Together project. As a tool that enables research colleagues to recognise their entrepreneurial strengths, this now supports GrowthHub in their work across Dublin and the South East of Ireland.

For us, Global Entrepreneurship Week is what we do all year round, creating value for our clients and theirs.

As Global Entrepreneurship Week reminds us, entrepreneurship is ultimately about creating value, for ourselves, for others, and for the communities we serve.

At Enterprise Evolution, this isn’t limited to one week in the year; it’s what drives us every day. Whether through our partnerships, consultancy, or educational initiatives, our mission remains the same: to empower individuals and organisations to recognise, measure, and amplify the value they create. Because when value is shared, it multiplies, and that’s how real, lasting impact begins.
